If you flash a european version of the firmware (XWKS2, the english XWKS3 probably also) without flashing the modem (amss) afterwards, the GPS won't work. This is what happened to me. Try flashing just the telstra 2.3.4 firmware I linked to first. Use odin 4.38. I followed these instructions:
